Chinese traditional culture has always been regarded as a valuable resource for middle school politic-ideological teaching. It is a relatively stable cultural form of the Chinese nation in the course of history. It has not only played an important role in the past, but has also exerted huge influences on people’s thinking mode, behavioral habits, and the whole social life in today. In a close connection with the era development, traditional culture has been constantly given new value and significance. It is of great importance for improving ideological and political teaching in middle schools. The research of applying traditional culture into ideological and political teaching in middle schools will provide valuable references for the traditional culture inheritance and innovation, and also the development of students and teachers.Traditional culture has profound ideological content and system, which can enrich the teaching contents and improve teaching methods, hence to complete the teaching tasks. The combination of politic-ideological teaching and Chinese traditional culture in middle school can enhance teaching effectiveness and students’humanistic quality, so its effects should not be underestimated. Based on the application of traditional culture in the ideological and political teaching in middle school, there exists dilemma for the application of traditional culture. The teaching means of traditional culture for middle school politic-ideological teaching are traditionalized. The teaching methods of traditional culture for middle school politic-ideological teaching are rigid. This paper analyzes problem causes and proposes related measures to strengthen traditional culture in politic-ideological teaching in middle schools. More attention should be paid to the application of traditional culture. Some disqualified teachers have hindered the effective use of traditional culture in school teaching. And there is no evaluation mechanism for the application of traditional culture. Firstly, we must strengthen the awareness of the use of traditional culture, to enhance teachers’professional development, and promote the quality of individual teachers and the entire faculty. Evaluation mechanism on the application of traditional culture should also be improved, hence to understand the application principles of putting traditional culture into school teaching. Through this research topic, it intends to improve the effectiveness of traditional culture in the ideological and political teaching in secondary schools, to reflect the requirements of the new curriculum reform.
