Based on analysis and prompts of literatures’ overview, this paper hasconstructed evaluation indices system of regional sports tourism competitivenesswhich consisted of four first-level indices, nine second-level indices and forty-eightthird-level indices from the perspectives of performance competitiveness, potentialitycompetitiveness, economy competitiveness and environment competitiveness. Byemploying the diverse statistic method of factor analysis, main ingredient analysis andclustering analysis, this paper made an empirical research of sports tourismcompetitiveness of14prefecture-level cities in Guangxi.1) The results revealed thatGuilin is the most competitive city scored1.111and Nanning is ranked the second insports tourism, scored1.053. Congzuo is the least competitive city which scored-0.364.2) The rank of sports tourism competitiveness of14prefecture-level cities areas follows: Guilin, Nanning, Liuzhou, Beihai, Baise, Yulin, Hechi, Hezhou,Fangchenggang, Wuzhou, Qinzhou, Guigang, Laibin and Chongzuo.3)In the methodof the clustering analysis system, the results revealed that Nanning, Guilin belong tothe first group; the second ground includes Liuzhou and Beihai; the third groupconsists of Baise, Hechi, Hezhou, Wuzhou, Yulin, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang;Guigang, Laibin and Chongzuo constitute the forth group.
