| Classical Chinese poetry steeped in a long history, the thoughts and feelings, the wisdom and moral, aesthetic pursuit of the ancients relies on its unique artistic expression and a rich ideological content becoming the classic of Chinese national culture and the ancient Chinese cultural essence with a unique aesthetic value. Reading good works of traditional poetry can edify and cultivate emotions, enhance the aesthetic tastes and literary accomplishment. Therefore, the cultivation of high school students’ability to appreciate ancient poetry is an important part in high school’s Chinese teaching. The unique aesthetic value and rich cultural connation of ancient poetry have an important practical significance for improving students’attainment. However, we should also know that these values and functions of classical poetry are only potential things. To transform them into reality can be only achieved through the appreciation. So Chinese education at high school should pay more attention to cultivate and improve students’appreciation ability to ancient poetry.Appreciation is a mental activity and process in which people can feel, understand and judge the artistic mages. People’s thinking activities and feelings in the appreciation generally proceed from the specific experience of the artistic images, and the leap of understanding from the perceptual stage to the rational stage can be realized. Both of them are constrained by the images and the content of the art works. At the same time, basing on their own thoughts and feelings, life experience, art, ideas and artistic interest, the images have been complemented and enriched by people. They have used their visual perception, the past life experience and cultural knowledge to feel, experience, imagine, analyze and judge in order to get aesthetic enjoyment and understanding of art works and art phenomenon. So to appreciate the ancient poetry and to improve the appreciation ability to ancient poetry, we have to know the appreciation of the object-the characteristics of the ancient poems, and define appreciation subject-Appreciators must have the basic ability. For high school students, to improve their ability to appreciate ancient poetry, we had better start from school education, especially classroom teaching, and find effective ways. Firstly, this paper uses a literature analysis to collate, analyze and synthesize the literature materials in order to sum up that the ancient poetry has these characteristics:the most lyrical, rich imagination and association, and concise language, subtle expression, distinctive sense of rhythm and harmony rhythm, and the thesis considers that these characteristics of ancient poetry determine appreciators must have three basic capabilities:aesthetic perception, aesthetic imagination and aesthetic ability to understand. Then, we focus on the current situation in the cultivation of these three capabilities, and use the methods of investigation, interviews, document analysis to understand and analyze the situation of ancient poetry teaching at high school. Because of the utilitarian purpose of the ancient poetry teaching, the "authority" Reading, and the negligence of the students ’experience and other issues, lots of students has lost their interest in learning the ancient poems, and passively accepted in the class, and they haven’t acquired a certain amount of appreciation methods and their relevant capacities haven’t gotten proper exercise so that their overall standard of appreciation is generally low. Based on theoretical guidance and practical problems in reality, in this article we do some research on the main factors of the teaching system-teachers, students and the teaching process for the purpose of getting out of the current predicament. In order to improve students’ ability to appreciate ancient poetry, teachers should update the concept of Chinese teaching and learning and enhance their literary and aesthetic qualities. What’s more, they should pay attention to stimulate students’ interest in learning the ancient poems and teach the students’ some basic methods to appreciate poetry in their teaching process. Meanwhile, Students should exert their initiative, not only to humbly accept their teachers’guidance, but also consciously use or create their own appreciation methods, expand the amount of reading, enrich relevant knowledge and enhance literary accomplishment. In conclusion, in this study we hope to do some theoretical complement and richness to previous studies or to resolve some issues that exist in the cultivation of high school students’ability to appreciate ancient poetry. |
