Scientific and health literacy as an important part of scientificliteracy has a profound effect in improving public quality. Promotingscientific fitness concepts and fostering a scientific health literacywill help to improve the health of the citizens and promote socialprogress. Adults as a major contributor to the workforce, theirhealth literacy status will affect the creation of social wealth. Thethesis aims to build a scientific evaluation index system which suitsto China’s health literacy of adults, and through empirical researchto illustrate the feasibility and operability of the system of scientificfitness of China’s adult literacy assessment indicators.The thesis used some research methods, including researchliterature, expert survey, questionnaire surveys, statistical analysismethod and other methods. The author selected 546 adults fromfour prefecture-level cities of Shanxi Province whose age rangedfrom 20 to 59 years old, with different genders, different ages,different occupations, different level of education and differenthousehold registration to make the empirical research. The results show that: through the expert survey andexploratory factor analysis to build four demensions of scientificfitness knowledge, scientific fitness attitude, science and fitnessskills and behavior and scientific and fitness evaluation andscientific fitness terminology, sports and health knowledge,science and fitness attitude–cognition, science and fitnessattitude–emotional experience, science and fitness attitude–behavioral intentions to develop a fitness program, fitness skills,fitness behaviors, fitness risk prevention, subjective feelings andobjective examination of 11 sub - dimension about science andhealth literacy assessment index system of adults; the level ofunderstanding about the terminology of science and fitness ofpeople are not high; on the fractal dimensions of science and fitnessattitude, three elements are not coordinated; on the fractaldimensions of developing fitness programs and mastering fitnessskills, the number of the people who achieve the fine proportion areless than the theoretical proportion, lack of awareness of healthrisk prevention; a number of quantitative indicators of theevaluation of scientific fitness is not clear.Based on the research results, the thesis proposes the followingrecommendations: updating concepts, strengthening the sense;regular monitoring, updating the prescription; strengthening thescientific fitness guidance.
