The Influence Of Professional Social Work Education Of Social Work

Social work education started late in China contrast with in western countries. Itis in the late of1980’s that social work started in college education, and it has been asubject so far. At the same time, social work as a profession still lagged thaneducation in our country. It is since the party’s sixth plenary of sixteen session putforward that establish a grand scale of social workers, and included the social workersinto the overall strategic planning of the qualified personnel, that the professionalconstruction of social work got certain advancement. At the same time, with thedevelopment of economic and society, various social contradictions emerging alsoneeds social work intervened. Owing to the status that social work education earlierthan profession in China, determining that social work education since its birthshouldered the mission to promote the development of social work professionalization.However, in the first ten years of social work education, the development of socialwork professionalization is slow. Relatively speaking, the support of government inpolicy has played a significant role in promoting social work professionalization,since the first of social worker certification examinations in2008, has a total of60,000social workers now. Not only provide support to the university education, butmade an important step in social work professionalization. By researching2721datum of social workers, this article analyzed the different roles between universityand governments in social work professionalization. Then put forward the suggestionsfrom policy to promote the development of social work professionalization.
