Emotional education is caring for the educational objects with heart, with kindness,justice, health, positive approach to educate them, and giving them proper guidance interms of mental and moral way. The emotional education in the ideological and politicaleducation means educator should conform education principles, arouse, cultivate andregulate the emotional experience of educational objects with purposes and plans, fostertheir education object health noble of emotional cultivation and personality, makes themform good of political thought and political quality, promote the realization the aim ofeducating educational objects’ ideological and political education, is an emotionalexperience activity that ideological and political education objects responded to educator,the practice activities of educator and education content. There are seven main kinds ofCharacteristics of emotional education in ideological and political education: cohesion,adjusting, radioactivity, motivation, communication, and the long-term, repeat offender.The function of emotional education in ideological and political education refers to theeffective role played by emotional education in ideological and political education.According to different function objects, it can be divided into social and individualfunction of emotional education in ideological and political education. The lack ofemotional education in one of the important reason which leads to the presenteffectiveness of ideological and political education, while there also are some otherfactors like education systems, family education, school education, education, educator,ect. In order to increase the effectiveness of emotion education in ideological andpolitical education, improvement needs to be done from the following aspects: Changingthe idea of ideological and political education, perfecting the emotional educationmechanism of ideological and political education, providing security for the effective implementation of emotional education; going into research on educational objects’moral standards, respecting for individual differences, and enhancing the pertinence ofemotional education; fostering the love of educators, making educators alwaysmaintained the purity and nobleness to educational object, enhancing affinity ofemotional education; educators should have a high degree of responsibility, shorten thedistance between educator and educational objects, demand education object with therelatives attitude; Educators should emphasis on language arts, with sincere words anddeeds to infect and encourage educational objects.
