The Research Of Local Government Credibility In China In New Period

The credibility of the local government is a kind of ability whether the government could obtain people’s confidence. It is the power to be trusted by public. The government use actions and ideas to obtain the trust of the community. It is an evaluation of the government’s comprehensive ability. Since the founding of new China, China’s local government credibility showing parabolic changes. Currently, the credibility of local government in China is generally lower than the central government, the more grass-roots government it is, the lower credibility it has. The reason for this phenomenon is the grass-roots government has lesser public resources, its competence and the quality of junior civil servants is inadequate. In order to improve the credibility of local government, need the society, especially the joint efforts of the Party and government departments. On one hand, we need to improve the capacity of the government social management and public services. On the other hand, public officials should improve their own quality and public morality cultivation, from the source to improve the credibility of the government.This paper starts from the view of constructing the credibility of local government, to analyse the reasons of low credibility and give some countermeasures. This article is divided into five parts, including the credibility of local government’s concept, the current research status, the reasons for the decline of the credibility of local governments and give some suggests to solve the problem, aims for giving some superficial recommendations to improve the situation of the credibility of local governments in China.
