A Research Report About The Credibility Of Government Statistics

With the development of Chinese economy and society, the government statistics data is causing more and more attention at home and aboard, and the Government Statistics Credibility is facing grim tests.Through questionnaire research to find out the awareness and attitude towards Government Statistics Credibility of the general public, and then summarize the awareness and attitude to form a visually intuitive data, this is the basis of the article.By this questionnaire research, I find that the main factors affecting the Government Statistics Credibility include:first, the public’s understanding of statistical data and their degree of participation and coordination with the government statistics department; second, the structural establishment of statistics departments and administrative intervention; third, the factors within the statistical departments.Therefore, the ways to improve the Government Statistics Credibility are: first, establish a new structure of government statistics department to improve independence from administrative intervention; second, improve the system of statistical methods to increase the usefulness of statistics data; third, develop the statistical legal system; forth, the government must intensify publicity of government statistics; fifth, strengthen the power of the primary statistical agency, sixth, introduce market mechanisms into government statistics.The innovation of this article is that, a questionnaire research is used to find out the awareness and attitude towards Government Statistics Credibility of the general public. But, there are still some imperfections, the questionnaire used is not perfect designed, and some detail aspects are not clearly analyzed.
