The scholastic civic education is an important part of the civic education inChina.It is directly related to the operation and development of the entire civiceducation system. In the perspective of scholastic civic education construction, thisarticle will start the discussion with some underlying concepts. In the combinationwith the reality, it firstly analyse the social conditions and historical background forthe strong demands of civic education; Secondly, this article presents the basicprinciple of the practice mode applyed in Chinese civic education, which argues thatbesides the normal focus on civic awareness and participating skill, we should alsodevelop the resources lying in our traditional culture and should pay more attentionsto the effective combination of ideological and political education; At last, based onthe universal experiences and in consideration with Chinese culture and currentsituation, this article gives four basic orientations about the practice mode of Chinsescivic education, which are adhering to government-led and state intervention,focusing on fostering the civic awareness with a feature of national spirit, focusing onthe living practices and the improving of citizenship skills, and creating theatmosphere of civic education and fulfilling the networking of civic education.
