Judge Professionalism is the certain result from the development andimprovement of the legal system, the basic characteristic and theimportant symbol of the development of justice civilization. Theprofessionalization of judges includes the establishment of a strict judgeprofessional access system, the building of the scientific system of judgedevelopment, the improvement of the effective judge supervision anddisciplinary system, and building a solid job security system for judges.On the basis of legal theory and trial skills, judge appraisal system is thesum of the relevant provisions and the examinations whether judges havethe capability to be a qualified judge. Therefore, the performanceappraisal system is extremely important for the judge professionalismreform which provides important protection to improve the effectivenessof the judge work and independent impartial trial. In the current situation,the research on how to improve the performance appraisal system,explore a scientific, rational and high-operable system which is importantto improve the efficiency of the court work, guarantee the judicial fairness,create a high-quality judge team and enhance the career process ofjudge reform.The object of the paper is to offer advices and suggestions toimprove the judge performance appraisal system by discussing the basiccontent and the problems in the operation of the Judge advanced levelcontest in Guangdong Province.
