Zhang Lan is a famous democratic revolutionist and thinker in the contemporary history of China. He is the creator and the earlier leader of the Democratic Alliance, fight for democracy and peace in all his life, his thought on democratic politics that he left to us is valuable spiritual wealth. And also his democratic political thought still has an important significance to the development of democratic politics today.In this thesis, the study of ZhangLan’s democratic political thought is divided into four periods in the order of time.The frist part is introduction,the article will do a simple summary of the research significance, method and thesis framework.The text is divided into four chapters, made a detailed introduction for the democratic political thought into four part. In early, ZhangLan become a constitutional monarchy by the influence of the reform thought. After the Revolution of1911, he took an active part in the struggle to maintain a democratic republic. In the period of the Anti-Japanese War, he insisted that Japanese must be expelled, advocated democratic constitutionalism, against the one-party dictatorship of the Kuomintang, asked for the protection of the legal status of the various political parties, established democratic coalition government. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, ZhangLan and the other leaders of the Democratic Alliance claimed middle-way. Because of persecution of the Kuomintang government, middle-way gone broke finally. At last, he accepted the leadership of the Communist Party.In the end of this thesis, author will discuss the feature of Zhanglan’s thought. His thought developed with the progress of the times, has some advantages. Because of various reasons,his thought also has disadvantages.
