In the modern history of China, Tan Pingshan was a complex historical figureas well as an influential political activists and revolutionaries. He was not only animportant founder of the Communist Party of China but also held important post inthe Kuomintang, which made he have important research value.In the period of1911Revolution, he joined the Chinese Revolutionary Leaguefollowing Sun Yat-sen. During the study at Peking University, he was an active partin the May Fourth Movement, and later he established the CPC Guangdong branchwith the help of Chen Duxiu. In the chaos of the new trend, Tan Pingshan choseMarxism as his lifelong faith, showing great political courage. Tan Pingshan madeindelible historical merit in the first KMT-CPC cooperation, vigorous peasantmovement and Nanchang Uprising. He was the one who held a very responsibleposition both in the KMT and the CPC but expelled from them at last having to findanother way to make a living. Although his political career was full of twists andturns, he did not give up his political pursuit. Tan Pingshan set up the ChineseRevolutionary Party and was involved in the creation of the Three People’sPrinciples comrades Federation and the Chinese Kuomintang RevolutionaryCommittee, eventually he took the road of new democratic revolution which wasunder the leadership of the Communist Party of China.Although Tan Pingshang had a rough life experiencing many setbacks, hispolitical position of anti-imperialist and anti-feudal had never wavered. Holding thedetermination that live for the communist and maintaining a positive and continuousprogress revolutionary spirit, he fought with heart and soul for benefits the people,which should be fully affirmed.
