In this thesis, the charities of Christianity in the area of modern Western Hunan isresearched, focuses on the analysis of the characteristics and effects of the moderncharities of Christianity in the area of Western Hunan, and summarizing and thinking onthis basis, in order to offer some experiences and references for today’s development ofWestern Hunan’s charities. With the promotion of external culture, the expansion ofChristianity’s influence and the missionary work of the Chinese inland, the area ofWestern Hunan became one of the area of the Christianity’s missionary and the charitiesof Christianity in the area of Western Hunan began and developed in this case. Theresearch of the charities of Christianity in the area of modern Western Hunan is nowonly scattered Hunan Christianity research and the Hunan charities research, and theresearch has not yet formed a special paper or monograph. The thesis helps to make upthis weak link.The Christianity in the area of Western Hunan opened a series of various forms ofphilanthropy in modern times. Medical health, infant raising and charity, relief offamine and disaster is the main content. In the aspect of improving the status of theWestern Hunan’s people living state and alleviate people sufferings, it has madepositive effects. The research results showed that the charities of Christianity in the areaof Western Hunan in modern times had the purpose of missionary and evangelism; ithad historical coincidence from the development process; it had imbalance mainly ineducation and medical health in its content; it also had limitations from the effect ofsocial charities. Simultaneously, the charities of Christianity in the area of WesternHunan brought some new concept of charity, promoted the development of medical andeducation in the Western Hunan in modern times, relieved the pressure of social inmodern Western Hunan.On the whole, the charities of Christianity in the area of Western Hunan in moderntimes and its influence give us some importance inspiration, and it gave lots of historicalexperience and lesson to the charities of contemporary Western Hunan.The thesis is composed of introduction, body and conclusion, which the body isdivided into three chapters.Chapter1, Introduction: This part describes the social and academic significance ofthe research, analyzes the research status and introduces relative concept in this thesis.Chapter2: The historical conditions of the charities of Christianity in the area ofWestern Hunan in modern times is introduced: This chapter describes the socialbackground of modern Western Hunan; The missionary work and missionary blockedof Christianity in the Western Hunan; the reason of its launch and historical process; themain content of the charities of Christianity in the area of Western Hunan in modern times.Chapter3: The characteristics of the charities of Christianity in the area of WesternHunan in modern times are analyzed. The research results showed that it hadsubordination from the purpose of launch; from the property; it had historicalcoincidence from the development process; it had imbalance mainly in education andmedical health in its content; it also had limitations from the effect of social charities.Chapter4: the influence of the charities of Christianity in the area of WesternHunan in modern times is discussed. The charities remedied the deficiency of medicalhealth in modern Western Hunan, promoted the development of education in theWestern Hunan in modern times, relieved the pressure of social in modern WesternHunan, and brought some new concept of charity.
