In our country, "three rural issues" is long-standing . After the system obstacle of fettering peasant's development is dispelled , peasant's modernization will become the key question of the "three rural issues" in the future, namely peasants' modernization is the prerequisite and core of of our country's rural. The paper analyzed how far does Western Hunan peasants moved among modernization process, which factors promote or hinder them in modernization process, and which consequences does it bring. Through investigate and statistical analysis on peasants in Shi village and Ou village , following points are discovered:1. The residents of two villages have already taken a gratifying step in modernization according to colony's level, have possessed the basic speciality to fit modern society. There is distinct difference on personal modernity of the peasants in two villages, the height characteristic of homogeneity on traditional peasants disappeared at two village's peasants already. According to different respects of the personal modernity characteristic group, the western Hunan peasants of two villages tend to the modernity speciality in some aspects on the whole, and traditional peasants' speciality that still appear in some aspects.2. Under the present China's unique national conditions, modernity demonstrates new characteristic on the infiltration of two villages: Shicun: get and transfer; Ou Village : Involvement of the external modernity factor. From the individual point of view, go out for working > trading and big city experience are remarkable influence factors that promote peasants' modernization of two villages ; newspaper and telephone may play important roles too. TV and skills training did not played an important role in peasant's modernization in two villages . And, we can know from further analysis: Go out to work for 3 years, personal modernity will have improved remarkable ; go out to trade for less than 1 year, personal modernity will have improved remarkable.3. The personal modernity difference is remarkable among differentprofessional peasants in two villages, person who go out for working > trading and in other vacations are remarkable higher than peoples who mainly live on agriculture on personal modernity in two village. Therefore, we can conclude , personal modernity and two villages peasant's career have inherent relations . And " the society matching " is the way(rule) that the personal modernity difference causes peasants' social differentiation . By the growth of modernity, peasants have the ability to adapt modern society, this kind of ability has offered foundation for peasants to go out of the countryside, some people will break away from peasant colony, will go out of the countryside finally.
