Language is the transmission code of human civilization as well as the carrier of culture. It could reflect the culture which includes the history, the attitude to one’s life and world, the living style and culture background of a nation. Thus, culture is the root of language which provides sustenance for the development of language. Also, the developing culture could further the language development to be more delicate.As stepping into the information age, the transportation and communication technique develops suddenly and rapidly and the economic globalization brooks no delay. At the same time, a mushrooming of culture model which are set up with the global modernization are presented. Consequently, the intercultural communication unavoidably gets to be a necessary factor in daily life. But in fact, it is still to be the difficulty in communication reality that the students who have a long term experience of English education also lack the appropriate pragmatic competence to enjoy the intercultural communication competence. This situation reflects a serious problem we should pay high attention on.Nowadays, the globalization requires the college English teaching should take on the duty to advance the students’intercultural communication competence so that the college English education should make several rectifications of the instructional strategies. Therefore, except for mastering the pragmatic competence of the target language, the college English teaching should implement the culture teaching and also help students to build up the culture awareness and the intercultural competence to conform to the needs of society development.According to different college instructional circumstance, students’characteristics, instructional goals and so on from local institutions, the military college English teaching has its own requirements and particularity. So the culture teaching of military college English teaching also should have its own teaching specialty and set up the useful teaching tactics.Up to the pragmatics, cultural linguistics and intercultural communicative, this essay take data research, questionnaire method and teachers’interview and so on to make an investment on one military college to analyze and present its existing conditions, problems and influences of the culture teaching. Then, it tries to conclude some instructional strategy.In this essay, the analysis goes to the follow factors.1. There is a promotion for the culture teaching of military college English teaching. The students’awareness on culture teaching of this military college is one-sidedness and their studying interests are not active. For instance, some students would like to give up to study English any more as passing the College English Test4, and also, some students could not input English culture by themselves after class culture teaching. All shows a fact that the serious weakness of students’ cultural awareness and intercultural communication.2. It could not ignore the influences of culture teaching of military college English teaching. Although, the most students have the approved attitude to know the English culture, they do not set up a clear awareness on college English teaching goals. Thus, the students do not understand the value of culture teaching so that they could not obtain the intercultural competence. According to the military characteristics, the culture teaching contents should be under influence.3. This essay presents the importance, the principles and the instructional strategies of culture teaching in military college English teaching which would play referential role of constructing the teaching awareness and teaching tactics of culture teaching for military college teachers.This essay aims to present the culture teaching in military college English teaching and provide a particular culture teaching case which is implemented in military college. It regards the culture teaching as positive for non-English majors students to draw rich nutrition in their college life. The essay would draw college English teachers’attention on culture teaching. Furthermore, it would be a reference to develop the related research and make a contribution to the humanities quality education.
