"points" For The Paper

Staring from the evolution of "pores" in porous printing, this dissertation briefly summarized the developing path from "pore" of porous printing to "dot" of silkscreen painting as well as the advancement from the screen "hole" to the unit "dot" in the language of silkscreen printing. This series of "points" with different connotation played various roles at different stages of constructing the language of silkscreen printing. Taking the unit "point" in the language of silkscreen printing as the clue, this dissertation explores how the painting language transfers smoothly into silkscreen printing language as well as the advantages of the conversions from picture languages to silkscreen printing languages. Meanwhile, it intends to analyze the convenience and infinite possibility in the process of constructing silkscreen printmaking language.This dissertation takes the technical methods frequently used in silkscreen printmaking as its researching approach, collecting the formative measures of silkscreen printmaking languages in the process of platemaking and printing while contrasting and analyzing lingual imprints eventually appeared on various picturesA intensive study have been made in this thesis from three aspects as follows: first of all, the internal relationship between "pores" and "dots" from the space to the plane; secondly, the "points" in the painting language differ from the "dots" of silkscreen printing in concept, moreover particularity exists in the process of transformation since "dots" guarantee the smooth conversion of languages; last but not least, under the influence of new media,"dots" of various categories provide a platform for the infinite possibility of constructing the silkscreen printing language.Through studies on the significance and value of the basic unit "dots" form the language of silkscreen printing, the nature of silkscreen printing language could be recognized and the exploration and excavation in new languages can be persistently carried forward.
