| Literature in shanghai during the Anti-Japanese War presented it’s peculiar fertility and complexity because of it’s special location and history.It’s can be divided into three periods:beginning of the war,"solitary island" period and the whole city Occupied period. Shanghai-as the Cultural center of the China, it’s development and achievement in literature can not be overlooked even during the war. We found that, with the consensus of "Literature serves for the war", a series of cherish collection still emerged while the literary and art circles is flooded with conventional works which is written about the current-affairs that time.Some of these collection written stories far away form the anti-war background, some of them concealed the war behind the curtain.They written stories which was happened in places far from Shanghai or the suburb towns which was already became the battlefronts.It’s came from the writer’s memory of local customs of their hometown or the places they have been. Therefore, it’s really meaningful for us to study the "Township Narrative" under the pen of the shanghai writers, if we want to do further research on the Shanghai’s literature during the anti-war period or even the countryside literature of the entire epoch of1940s.However, due to the various political campaign and the academic system together with the thinging patten and habits, Shanghai literature had been snubbed by the others for a long time in this period.Thus, those "Township Narrative" collection also been ignored.The thesis will focus on the the "Township Narrative" collection of the writers in Shanghai,and the thesis will be based on the tradition in the modern countryside literature and the tendency of the entire1940s countryside literature.Thorough text analysis will be used to explain the spiritual delimma of the patriotic writers who insisted on their own position in literature during the Occupied period or even the entire national crisis.Analysis will be given in four chapters.The first and the second chapter will be used to analyze the text itself.To find the art charming of the text itself by comprehensive and deep study of the text and comparison of the differences and the similarity of multifarious text.Do the best to require it profound implications behind the these writers and works by explore their inside connections.The third chapter will discuss the motivation why Shanghai’s writers choosing this kind of theme, together with deep spiritual and cultural reason of the special artistic characteristics of "Township Narrative".The complicated variation of it’s "poetic" and "reality" rhythm,not only implied china’s abundant and comlplex countryside life but also impied the contradictory emotion of the writers when they faced the national crisis.The last chapter will put the "Township Narrative" from writers of Shanghai into the entire1940s countryside novel based on the former steps-deep analysis of the text itself and the analysis of the writer’s thought. And finally, to find the connection between the "Township Narrative" and the integrated countryside novel in1940s. |
