With various aggravated social conflicts caused by multiple stratification and dimensions of Chinese society, the problem of public trust, which was aggressively concerned by the society, has provoked comprehensive researches in the community of social science and liberal arts. This dissertation hereby introduces the concept of credibility into the area of design and provide a more generalized social value orientation instead of traditional commercial competition one with the publis credit point of view of design, to discuss the method of regression of harmonious relationships among the design, the public and the society. Which means the credibility of design is the important connotation to form and maintain the construction of this social value. Meanwhile, in the author’s opinion, it is not need to deny the market and economic value orientation but as a designer should be conscious of the trap and fraud in the area of design within the unlimited and vigorous rise of human creativity. Both sides should be considered since only with continuously self-conscious and self-examination, the thought of the designer can create really public benefits and serve the all the people.The concept of credibility of design discussed in this dissertation is firstly constructed with the theory of trust. After that, the detailed plan and the macro value design will be explained. The key point is the reconstruction of public credit. The first chapter, the introduction focus on the genesis of the research, the importance of the selected topic, the status quo of and the method of the research. Chapter II discusses the connation of the credibility of design with summarizing the results and the developments of existing theories. Chapter III turns to analyses the specific cases which covers the real estate, print advertisement, product design and the transportation. The concept of honesties will be discussed within various dimensions in the factors of market and education etc. The conflicts and the way to bridge between the detailed plan and the macro public of credibility of design will be elaborated. Chapter IV pays more attention to the status quo of design of modern china by typical case from the1st exhibition of Chinese design in the year2012to provide an achievable approach to construction the credibility of design with the rearrange of the value of design. At last, the Chapter V summarize the influence of the value of the concept with the consciously consciousness of the notation of modernity and the future will be led.
