In this paper the main research object is a famous calligrapher of Ming dynastyDong QiChang and his calligraphy and painting appreciation method. The firstpart of this article will mainly discusses the Painting and Calligraphy trading、connoisseurship activities、collection and fake in the late of Ming Dynasty whichDong QiChang lives, thereby it is reflect a complete historical context. Thesecond part of this article demonstrates and restores DongQiChang ‘scalligraphy and painting appreciation method on both of the form and aestheticperspectives. The third part of this article explains analysiing dialectically to theDongQiChang ‘s calligraphy and painting appreciation method, and endowswith contemporary significance.The author writes this paper is not for the levelof Dong QiChang ‘s calligraphy and painting appreciation, but author wants torestore a relative real time environment and some behavior of Dong QiChang’scollection and appraise of the calligraphy and painting objectively. The authorargues that it is cautious and objective to judgment a historical figure, becausewe can not back to the real features in that era. For this reason we should takedialectical attitude towards them. This text aim at dialecticly thinking toward DoQiChang’s collection and apprasie of the painting and calligraphy, and alsodevelop the modern significance of Do QiChang’s collection and apprasie of thepainting and calligraphy on some identification of behavior as the basis in text.
