Zhang Geng Painting Thought Research

Zhang Geng is one of the most important figures in the art history of theQing dynasty. He brought up many theoretical views in Pu shan lunhua which served as a link between the past and the future and verypertinent critics on social events at that time. For example, on the "qiyun" and "yi", and on " use Chinese brush and Chinese ink ", and " eliminatethe shortcomings and adopt the good points " of Division ancient attitude,and " xia xue shang da zhi gong fu ", and painting of abuse in Ming andQing dynasties and so on.There are lots of arguments supporting andenriching the perspectives discussed above in his other two theoreticalwritings Guo chao hua zheng lu and Tu hua jing yi shi. This articleattempts to proceed to in-depth analysis and research on Zhang Geng’spersonal views on painting so as to discover their importance and value.
