The39primary school leadership and the mental health of teacher interviews questionnaire. The research results show that the primary schools in the area which borders both the urban and rural areas have made some progress on mental health education. But generally speaking, mental health education in this area is still at the initial stage, and developing in a state of imbalance. Compared with mental health education in developed areas, there are several gaps. The leaders of education departments and schools and teachers in this area should attach greater importance to mental health education and the work on promoting it in primary schools should be strengthened. Many schools are short of psychology teacher. Mental health education still has a low level of specialization in this area due to lack of formal theoretical and practical guidance.Based on the abovementioned research results, the following suggestions are proposed in this paper:The thought of education should be changed; awareness on mental health education in schools should be raised; more professional psychology teachers should be recruited; local mental health education center should be built to strength information exchange; a good teaching atmosphere of psychology should be built up to train the students’ability of independent learning and creation; more money and effort should be put into promoting mental health education. |
