English,as a global language,has been widely used in our daily life and the areas of industry.Now in China's education system,English has always been paid much attention to by our country and all fields of people.It is very important for the students,just like Chinese and maths.English must be learned and used in a certain environment,so we can say English learning can't be separated from the whole society,which includes the country,the families and the schools.Till now,English education has brought up a lot of qualified people,and made a lot of contributions to our country's as well as the whole world's development on economy.However,we can't thus ignore the problems in the English education.According to years' teaching experience,we find out there is a huge gap in students' English study between the urban and the rural areas.There are many factors causing such case,for example,the teaching methods are different,the importance that governments attach to English education and the efforts they make are also different,and the teachers'skills on English teaching are different,etc.Among these factors,we choose family English education as the point of this study,and pay attention to its influence on the pupils' English study.This study adopted the questionnaire survey.The investigation selected samples in the pupils and their parents and teachers from Zhang Zhenwu Middle School and Shang Yong Middle School,which are separately in the urban and rural area,on the pupils"English language family training and the pupils' class performance.According to the survey,we try to analyse the influence that family's English training has on the children.This paper mainly analyse from those parts----the pupils' difference on interests in English study,the attitude towards English study,their habits of English learning and their learning effect;their family backgrounds of education,their parents' aim to start English training,the study resources,and so on.We try to get out the influence of family education on English study and the problems that still exist in the family education.And from the survey,we put forward some suggestions,that is,family education should has right attitude and aims.Parents should use right methods to teach their children.Besides these,parents also need to make a strong connection with the teachers and school so that they can take better measures to improve pupils' English study.Apparently,proper family English education can provide a good start for children's English study.The influence from parents will have a big effect on pupils' study.Family's effect on English study has been widely concerned about from last century.In this paper,I hope we can make a study from the family English education on pupils before they go to school so that we can get some useful suggestions for parents,teachers and schools.I also hope these suggestions can ease off the children's fear and anxiety of learning English,and find out some ways to help them improve their interests in English study and reach the purpose of study.
