There are many studies on practical philosophy of Marx and Gadamer, but on the Comparative Study between the two is not yet done, this article is to this purpose. Their comparative significance lies in that Marx’s philosophy of practice can be regarded as a revolution within the field of philosophy in the Western tradition of practical philosophy, and it is clearly different from the way of thinking of the old philosophy; but Gadamer’s inheritance is a road of Aristotle’s practical philosophy. Both theoretical forms is different from each other and have their own characteristics, but also has its own utility for age. Therefore, a comparative study to fill the theoretical gap or find useful resources is necessary. To start from the background of both the practical philosophy, the paper focus on comparing both the similarities and differences in the relationship between the concept of practice, practice with the ontology, practice with understanding, and practice with technology. According to the original works, we come to the conclusion by mutual comparisons. Marx and Gadamer on the practice of conceptual understanding is different, so that makesthe difference in ontology, epistemology and technology. The article concludes that Marx and Gadamer have the same goal that is to build an ideal world, but the differences in their ideological road makes them to appear in the narrative for the world and planning a very different fate.
