Wang Quchang (1900-1989), Zhejiang Jiaxing, Chinese historian of philosophy,historian, a famous calligrapher.Since twentieth Century, in the community have a greater impact calligrapherWu Changshuo, Kang Youwei, Yu Youren, Wang Quchang, Sha Menghai, Lin Sanzhi,and their calligraphy styles vary, but for this period of vigorous development ofcalligraphy circles left many memorable precious wealth, in such a large calligraphyprosperity in the background, focus exploring Wang Quchang’s calligraphycharacteristics and origin, so as to clarify his calligraphy and other calligraphers havewhy to differ, his status as a scholar and how to affect his calligraphy creation.This article is divided four chapters to elaborate, the first chapter tries to beerudite through paternal teaching and influence, Wang Quchang’s circle of friends intwo to study its calligraphic origin, the second chapter discusses Wang Quchang’sstrong calligraphy characteristics and origin of the mentoring relationship, the thirdchapter of his" with grass" the main artistic characteristics, the fourth chapter definingWang Quchang scholar calligraphy style.
