Following a brief introduction to journalistic translation and the translated text A Special Report on World Economy by Economist, this papers seeks to explore the distinctive characteristics of English journalistic language. Then based on the analysis to the original text and the translated one, it proceeds to investigate the principles and strategies of translating financial reports in selections in titles, polish in words, construing in sentences.
