Survivin And Il - 8 Expression In Breast Cancer Tissue And The Correlation Of The Two

Objective To discuss the expression of survivin and IL-8, and to approach thecorrelation between survivin and IL-8.Methods The expression of survivin and IL-8was detected in52cases of breastcarcinoma tissues and15cases of adjacent noncancerous breast tissues byimmunohistochemical technology(S-P). The tissues of adjacent noncancerous breastwere normal breast tissue confirmed by pathology. The expression of survivin andIL-8were compared with clinical-pathologic parameters. The correlation betweensurvivin and IL-8were analyzed.Results There was no survivin in the adjacent noncancerous breast tissues. Theexpression rate of survivin was71.2%(37/52) in breast carcinoma tissues. IL-8wasonly expressed in two cases of djacent noncancerous breast tissues. The expressionrate of IL-8was61.5%(32/52) in breast carcinoma tissues. The expression rate ofsurvivin was87.5%(28/32) in32cases which the expression of IL-8was positive.The expression rate of survivin was55%(11/20) in20cases which the expression ofIL-8was negative. The correlativity of survivin and IL-8was found by statisticalanalysis (P<0.001). The correlation coefficient was0.365.Conclusion1.The expression rate of survivin was71.2%in the52cases ofbreast carcinoma tissues. There was no survivin in the normal breast tissues. Thedifference was statistically significant.2.Survivin and IL-8has the cooperation on theoccurrence and development of breast cancer. The high expression of survivin andIL-8indicates a bad prognosis.
