Expression And Significe Of Survivin And MMP-9 In Breast Carcinoma

Objective: Breast cancer is one of malignant tumor threatening women's healthy seriously. The incidence rate of it is rising quickly and has occupied the first place in female malignancies in these years. The prognosis of breast cancer is always a hot topic in medical science. It is significantly to appraise prognosis when combination therapy was used especially. Recently researchs showed that Survivin and MMP-9 may play a vital role in carcinogenesis and development of breast cancer. Our research has designed for displaying the roles of them.Methods: We studied the clinical significance of Survivin and MMP-9 based on clinic,follow-up data,pathology and immunohistochemistry of 60 breast cancer cases.Results: Immunostaining in 60 breast cancers showed that the positive rate of Survivin and was 61.67 %(37/60), the positive rate of MMP-9 was 55 %(33/60), the positive rate of P53 was 35 %(21/60), the positive rate of ER and PR was 35%(21/60)and 73.33%(44/60) respectly. The expression rate of Survivin and MMP-9 in breast carcinoma were higher than that in fibroadenoma of breast tissue respectly 25% (5/20 ) (P<0.05),20% ( 4/20) (P<0.01). There were significeful relationship between the expression of Survivin and MMP-9 with the different clinical staging of breast cancer , but we failed to displaying the interaction of expression of Survivin and MMP-9. The expression of Survivin was correlated with the survival years of patients. The expression of MMP-9 was correlated with lymph node metastasis. The expression of Survivin and MMP-9 were not correlated with the ages of patients, size of tumour, and histological differentiation .Conclusions: 1. The expression rate of Survivin in breast carcinoma was higher than that in fibroadenoma of breast tissue. Survivin was up regulated in breast carcinoma, which indicated that it may play an important role in the genesis and development of breast cancer。There were significeful relationship between the expression of Survivin with the histological differentiation clinical staging and the survival years of breast cancer. Survivin is a indepent factor in prognosis of breast cancer and in which Survivin play a negative role on it. Lymph node metastasiis is also a indepent foctors in which it play a negative role prognosis of breast carcinoma. We were failed to found the mutual action beteen Survivin and lymph node metastasis.2. The expression rate of MMP-9 in breast carcinoma was higher than that in fibroadenoma of breast tissue. MMP-9 was up regulated in breast carcinoma, in which indicated that it may play an important role in the genesis and development of breast cancer. We found the mutual action was significeful beteen the expression rate of MMP-9 and lymph node metastasis. we found that MMP-9 wasn't a foctor in prognosis of breast cancer in our research.3. Between the expression of Survivin and MMP-9 weren't relationship in breast carcinoma.
