Objective: Survivin is one of the newly identified apoptosis inhibitors. Previous studies indicate that survivin is over-expressed in most of human malignant tumors, but it can not be detected in normal tissue. Survivin becomes a new hot spot in researches of carcinoma diagnosis and treatment because of its characteristic of relativity to tumor. Breast cancer is one of malignant tumors that usually occur in females. In this study, the positive expression rates of survivin protein, P170 protein, cyclinD1 protein, P53 protein and microvessedensity (MVD) in breast cancer were detected by immunohistochemical staining method. Meanwhile, we have analyzed the relation of survivin protein to P53 protein, cyclinD1 protein, P170 protein and MVD to explore the role of survivin protein in the occurrence and advancement of breast cancer and possible significance in diagnosis and treatment of the tumor to offer a new basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment of the breast cancer. Methods: The samples of breast tissues from 56 patients with breast carcinoma, 10 with fibroadenoma and 10 healthy individuals were stained with polyclonal antibodies and monoclonal antibodies using two-step method. The 4 proteins (Survivin, P53, CyclinD1 and P170) and MVD were detected,...
