[Objective]:To observe the clinical efficacy and security of the milli-fire needle acupuncture with mild moxibustion and gabapentin of relieving postherpetic neuralgia(PHN),and to explore the standard operating procedure, treatment process, security and the value of health economics of the milli-fire needle acupuncture of curing PHN.[Methods]:With single blind,placebo-control led,randomized clinical trial design method, to collect outpatients with postherpetic neuralgia in Guanganmen Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences.60patients are divided into two groups, A and B. The group A of30cases is the treatment group and adopts mill-fire needle acupuncture with mild moxibustion; The group B of30cases is the control group and makes use of oral gabapentin with sham acupuncture (non-Acupoint of lesions remote with shallow needling). To record the degree of pain of the first treatment, the second treatment, the third treatment, the sixth treatment, the ninth treatment, the twelfth treatment. Six times are a course of treatment, if the patient were not cured, then enter an another course of treatment. After the course of treatment, statistics analysis of efficacy and follow-up efficacy after a mouth. Using the statistical software SPSS19.0to analyse the statistics data. To evaluate the clinical efficacy differences of two groups, and to identify the optimum treatment of PHN.[Result]:The subject altogether collected60cases:30cases of group A (the treatment group),and30cases of group B (the control group). After the end of treatment, The local pain effect evaluation results ihc treatment group:the cure rate is50.0%(15), the significant efficiency rate is36.7%(11), the effective rate is6.7%(2), no efficiency rate is6.7%(2); the control group:the cure rate is3.3%(1),the significant efficiency rate is33.3%(10),the effective rate is43.3%(13), no efficiency rate is20.0%(6). The result shows that the milli-fire needle acupuncture with mild moxibustion is superior to the gabapentin. [Conclusion]:The milli-fire needle acupuncture with mild moxibustion and gabapentin are the effective treatment of postherpetic neuralgia. The milli-fire needle acupuncture with mild moxibustion has the obvious analgesic effect, fast acting, high cure rate, no side effect, and is suitable for clinical application. The milli-fire needle acupuncture is a safe, convenient and effective treatment method.
