Objective:To observe the improvements of the outcome measures of the patients with hyperlipidemia (HLP) who has taken JiangZhiKeLi (JZKL), including syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), blood fat levels and the atherogenic index. To discuss about the prescription characteristics and its possible mechanism and objectively evaluate its efficacy and safety of the treatment. Finally to establish a new kind of TCM mixture which is safe, effective and easy for application for the treatment of HLP.Methods:According to the inclusion criteria,60cases of patients with hyperlipidemia were selected, and were divided into test group (30cases) and control group (30cases). Test group was treated with JZKL, control group was treated with XueZhiKang capsule. The treatment duration was six weeks. Before and after the treatment, recording the values of blood lipid items (including TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C) and atherogenic index, observing the improvements of syndromes of TCM. After the clinical obersavition, organizing the data and making detailed statistical analysis. Results:After six weeks treatments, the syndromes of TCM, the integral of syndrome of TCM, blood fat levels and the atherogenic index were both improved within both groups. The total effective rates of TCM meliorating symptoms were90%in test group and70%in control group. The syndromes of TCM and the integral of syndrome of TCM were both descended obviously in the same group (P<0.01), compared between the two groups, there is a statistically significant difference (P<0.05, P<0.05), which shows that the test group has a better curative effect on improving syndromes of TCM. The total clinical effective rates were89.66%in test group and86.21%in control group, there is no significant difference(P>0.05). In both groups, the level of TC, TG, and LDL-C was statistically decreased and the level of HDL-C was statistically increased, there is a statistically significant difference in the same group (P<0.05).Compared between the two groups, there is a statistically significant difference on reducing the level of TG (P<0.05), there is no difference (P>0.05) on reducing other blood fat items. It suggests that test group has a better curative effect on lowering TG. The atherogenic index was decreased in both groups, and there is no difference (P>0.05) which shows that two groups has a same treatment on preventing from atherosclerosis. During the clinical trial, there happened no obvious treatment-related adverse event. Conclusion:JZKL can effectively relieve clinical TCM symptoms, reduce levels of blood lipid and atherosclerosis, there is no obvious toxic side effects and adverse reactions. It is a safe, and effective Chinese compound recipe for the treatment of HLP.
