Diabetes gastroenterology is one of the common complications of diabetes mellitus. Clinical only some patients have symptoms, the patients only with functional changs need related checks to be found. Diabetes gastroenterology not only increase the suffering of patients, but also affect the absorption of nutrient and hypoglycemic drugs, increase the difficulty of glycemic control, exacerbate the occurrence and development of other chronic complications. Therefor early detection and prevention have important clinical significance in controling the occurrence and complications of diabetes and its complications. Western medicine treatment will take a basic treatment of diabetes, based on smooth control of blood sugar, treat the gastrointestinal disorders specially, such as using promote gastrointestinal motility drugs, symptomatic diarrhea medicine, laxative drugs, and nerve nutrition, improve microcirculation, etc, which achieve a certain effect in clinical. The chinese traditional medicine usually think the diabetes gastroenterology should contained in "piman""vomiting""diarrhea""constipation", which because there is disharmony among the spleen and liver and kidney usually, in addition to improper diet and bad mood. The TCM has many ways in treatment of diabetes gastroenterology, such as chinese medicine, acupuncture, massage, enema, acupoint sticking, point injection, embedding, ect. Numerous studies have confirmed, the TCM can make up for deficiencies of drug resistance and side effects when the western medicine is long-term used, and reduse the recurrence rate when it stopped, and also can improve glycemic control, regulate metabolic disorders. The TCM has a good effect in the treatment of diabetes gastroenterology, but at the same way, we must establish a standard of the disese name and diagnostic criteria as soon as possible, unified efficacy evaluation criteria, in order to facilitate the subsequent clinical treatment and experimental studies. We should carry out large-scale epidemiological studies of a large sample, and statistics incidence, study the distribution of contemporary syndrome type, explore common syndrome type, summing up the drug law, in order to facilitating the clinical application. The TCM as a great treasure and heritage of our nation, is worthy of our efforts to learning, digging and carrying forward, so as to take a greater contribution to the cause of human health. This paper referenced to related books, Chinese and English literature in a total of163, containing83Chinese medicine research and experience,80western medicine research.
