Objective:Research the dynamic changes of the effective component contents and its quality standard of the rhizome medicinal materials of Smilax China L. in the wildlife tending base, and determine the optimal harvest time of Smilax China L. Methods:This experiments mainly determined the moisture、ash and extract of Smilax China L.; The content of total flavonoids in Smilax china L. was determined by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry; Using HPLC method to determine the contents of astilbin and engeletin in Smilax China L.,and also established the fingerprint of Smilax China L.. Results:(1) With reference to the2010edition of the method of China Pharmacopoeia, the moisture content of the11batches of Smilax China L. ranges from7.63%to9.38%, the total ash content ranges from1.65%to2.64%, the cold water extract content ranges from3.60%to11.34%, the hot water extract content ranges from17.46%to35.06%, and the70%ethanol extract has the highest content ranges from11.72%to17.36%.(2) Determine the optimal extraction technology conditions of the rhizome medicinal materials of Smilax China L. by ultrasonic extraction method is70%ethanol, the ultrasonic extraction3times,, and60min each time.Through determining the flavonoids content of the effective components of Smilax China L., established the linear relationship of the dynamic changes of flavonoids content of Smilax China L. herbs in the same origin and different collection time.(3) Established the fingerprint of the Smilax China L. rhizome extraction, and used the software of 《traditional chromatographic fingerprint similarity evaluation system2004A edition》 for the similarity calculation, the11batches of Smilax China L. had14common peak, the similarity is all above0.90, and the similarity is good.(4) The astilbin content ranges from0.061%to0.192%, and the engeletin content ranges from0.364%to1.23%, both of the total content ranges from0.439%to1.423%, and which meet the regulation of the2010edition of the China Pharmacopoeia.Conclusion: The optimal harvest time of the rhizome medicinal materials of Smilax China L. should be in December when the above-ground of those pallen leaves and gradually withering, and the rhizomatic of Smilax China L. entering winter hibernation.
