Objective:To compare the clinical outcome and effect of medical resource utilization of tension-free inguinal hernia repair in senile patients under the local nerve block anesthesia with epidural block anesthesia, analyzed the collection of the case combined with documents.Methods:Collected senile patients cases of inguinal hernia in the ninth people hospital of Qingdao from March 2009 to December 2011, to fill unified lists by the collection of the case. All patients were randomized into 2 groups:local nerve block anesthesia group and epidural block anesthesia group, to take a retrospective analysis, and record the gratification of anesthesia, the length of operation, the degree of postoperative cut pain, the time to active, the postoperative complication in the near future after operation, (such as acute urinary retention, postoperative infection, scrotal edema, operative site hematoma), postoperative average length of stay, hospital charges.Results:There were no obvious difference between the two groups in the gratification of anesthesia and the length of operation and the degree of postoperative cut pain, the postoperative complication in the near future after operation, (such as postoperative infection, scrotal edema, operative site hematoma).ButConclusion:Two groups of anesthesia satisfaction, operation time, postoperative incision and postoperative pain recent complications (incision infection, scrotal effusion, the surgical site hematoma, grout swollen) there were no significant difference (P>0.05). Local anesthesia group nerve block the mean time of bed activities (3.5 h), a mean of the length of time (2.6 d), the charge of be in hospital (3628 yuan) comparing statistical significance (P>0.05), postoperative acute urinary retention was significantly lower than the continuous epidural anesthesia group (P<0.01).
