Objective:This experiment using the model of nutritional obese rats, through investigating the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy on weight, weight difference,fat mass,blood sugar,the levels of FFA, researchthe mechanism of weight loose function of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy.Methods:60SD male rats weighing (60±10)g were divided into2groups:blank group (10), modeling group(50).the rats of blank group were only fed with basic diet. The rats of modeling group were fed with high-fat diet for9weeks. Compared with the blank group,it was increase (by20%at9week) in the obesity group.rats of the obesity group were randomly divided into3groups:model group(8), acupuncture group(8)and moxibustion group(8),they were fed with basic diet during treatment.Observed during the modeling and treatment of the rats in each group, monitoring weekly body weight. After drawn detection of serum biochemical parameters of blood sugar, insulin, FFA, observe the fat cells and liver morphology.Results:(1)Body weight:the body weight in obesity group was obviously higher than that in the blank group before treatment.The weight was significant raised after Treatment in blank group and model controls group,intra-group comparisons showed very significant difference. The weight was decreased in acupuncture group and moxibustiongroup after treatment,but there was no statistical significance.(2)Visceral fat mass:From the perirenal visceral fat mass compared, Model group and moxibustion group and acupuncture group were higher than the blank group, the difference significant (P<0.05), moxibustion group and acupuncture group and model group found a significant difference (P<0.05), moxibustion group with needleacupuncture group found no significant difference (P>0.05). From testis weeks visceral fat mass compared to the model group and moxibustion group and acupuncture group were higher than the blank control group, and the difference significant (P<0.05), moxibustion group and acupuncture group compared with model group found a significant difference (P<0.05), moxibustion group and acupuncture group compared to no significant difference (P>0.05).(3) Glucose and Insulin:The model group’s glucose and insulin levels higher than the blank group, the differences are significant (P<0.05). Group of acupuncture and moxibustion group, glucose and insulin levels decreased significantly compared with the model group,have a significant difference (P<0.05), comparison with the blank control group have no significant difference (P>0.05), moxibustion group and acupuncture group have no significant difference (P>0.05).(4) FFA:levels of FFA in serum of the model controls group were higher than that of the blank group (P<0.05). levels Of FFA in serum of the acupuncture group moxibustion group were lower than that of the model controls group (P<0.05).(5)Liver tissue:blank group does not exist steatosis, hepatic cords in rules, to the surrounding radiation, model group, mild steatosis, mainly for small vacuoles of fat. Fatty degeneration of the acupuncture group and moxibustion group compared with the model group, light, scattered small vacuoles steatosis.Conclusion:Acupuncture and moxibustion was efficient to lose weight. The effect of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment reduced the nutritional obese rats visceral fat mass, lower blood sugar and insulin levels. Lower FFA acid content, which indicated that it may indirectly affect insulin levels, improve insulin resistance, so that weight loss.
