The power industry is crucial to the developments of national industry and nationaleconomy. With the reform of china’s power industrial system and the improvement ofinformationalized industry, Supervisory Information Systems (SIS) of thermal powerplants emerge to improve the market-competition-ability of the corporations. Combinedwith computer technology, information technology, control theory, and administrationscience, the systems have already become a new engine for the informationalizationconstruction of China’s thermal power plants. Following a thought of“informationalizing production and producing information”, SISs use the DistributedControl System (DCS) and realize a unification of administration and control, a share ofinformation, a safe control of production, an improvement of unit economy, and anenhancement of administration level of power plants. This thesis investigates the background and application of SISs. After comparingwith the strong points and weak points of several currently-used SIS products, weanalyze the existing problems and give a reasonable solution: a synthetic design modefor SIS. The design principles, the structural models, the key technologies, and safeprotection of the synthetic SIS are described systematically. As required by the variouslevel operators of thermal plants, the thesis designed and implemented the applicablefunctional modules of SIS systems in details. After evaluations of the PI real-timedatabase, the functional modules, the performance indexes, and the economy and safetyof the SIS, the test results are provided for the inspection of production information, thereal-time data sampling and procession, the statistics and survey of report forms, theanalysis and the computation of performance indexes, and the operation of dynamicalchecks. The results show the success of the design scheme of the SIS. Finally, wesummarize the design and realization of the project, and put forward some suggestionsfor a future application.
