With the rapid development of international trade, the demanding ofvarious port cranes are increasing, which promote the crane design. The cranecould load more and itself weight becomes more and more light. Moreover, thecrane is efficient and works faster. Gantry crane owns many advantages. It couldadapt all kinds of working conditions and has the jobs it undertakes finishedneatly and conveniently. It plays an important role in the working of port. At thesame time, with the acceleration of the international logistics, standard of designand manufacture of crane and the working efficiency is improved constantly forrequirement of people.Portal cranes, jib of four-bar linkage, with high operating efficiency thatis the most commonly used by large-scale mixed-shipment handling equipment.Its performance largely decides the quality of the machine. Optimizing themain size of the boom system plays an important part in overall design forportal crane, and decisively influences the reliability and economy of completemachine.This article introduces portal crane as an example. Its lifting weight is25tand the work range is from9.5m to33m. In this paper, we fox on the four-barlinkage jib system of the crane. The boom system is considered elastic bodies,its geometric dimensions is optimized, also its amplitude kinematics anddynamics simulation is researched. The elastic amplitude trajectory is obtained,with which the research verify the results of system optimization based onelastic and make goods closer to the level of translation when goods is at fullload, and make the work is more stable and more energy efficient, so that thestructures are more rational, safe and reliable.The main content of research(1) Treating the boom system as elastic body, the research is achieved thecollaborative optimization of each bar size of the boom system with the finiteelement method and structural mechanics.(2) Treating the boom system as a rigid and elastic body, the researchsimulate and analysis boom system in the condition of cargo loaded with finite element method and multi-body dynamics, what’s more, the research comparethe difference between two results which correspond to two models.(3) Comparing results of arm frame system optimization with simulationresults, the correctness of results of optimization is verified...
