| With the development of national economy, the industries of design requirements for crane is becoming higher and higher. In order to pay more attention to functionality, economy, reliability and safety for the port handling machinery, it raises new challenges on port handling machinery design. This paper introduces the virtual prototyping technology, using 3D design software—Pro/E to establish boom system model for 40-ton portal crane. The kernel of ADAMS and Pro/E are based on the Parasolid solid modeling as standard, so it can be outputting paraboloid (*.x_t) model file by switching model format, and then importing into ADAMS software, so as to establish the virtual prototyping of portal crane and complete the ADAMS virtual prototyping of portal crane. Using multi-body dynamic theory, the dynamic load of different condition can be determined. Then preserved the arm model by*. igs format in the Pro/E. Using the finite element design software—ANSYS10.0 which is current widely used to import model, define the material properties, mesh, analyse the modal, and to calculate the natural frequencies of the boom. Then, given the mode figure of vibration and studied it. Finally, calculated the modal neutral file MNF (Model Neutral File), and created a boom flexible body in ADAMS, so as to achieve the rigid-flexible coupling simulation of boom system for 40-ton portal crane, and analyse the results of different conditions. This simulation results indicated that the dynamic model of boom system for 40-ton portal crane is quite correct, and the dynamic simulation is feasible. Simultaneously, it's also proven the virtual prototyping technology is helpful in functionality, economy, reliability and security, and speeding up the development cycle and reducing the development cost in the design process for 40-ton portal crane. |
