Conservation And Utilization Study On Three Granary Sites Of Sui & Tang Grand Canal In West Tongji Ditch

The Grand Canal in China will be declared as World Cultural Heritage in 2013. The storage system of Sui & Tang Grand Canal, as an important part of the heritage of the Grand Canal, for cooperation with heritage declaration, the thesis take the granary sites of Sui & Tang Grand Canal in west Tongji Ditch as the main research object, doing the connservation and utilization study.Based on the analysis and collation of historical and archaeological documents of the granary sites of Sui & Tang Grand Canal in west Tongji Ditch, the thesis evaluates the history and culture, scientific and artistic value of the granarys, and summarizes four characteristics for them, like "the storehouse with many cellars has the large scale", "the warehouse city with complete pattern, is closely connected with the canal", etc. Through the investigation of present situation, the thesis make the situation assessment of the granary sites of Sui & Tang Grand Canal in west Tongji Ditch, and summarizes the main problems existing in each ruins. Point to the problem, based on heritage value and characteristics, the paper proposes the corresponding protection countermeasure for every granary site, and determines the protection area, works out the protection measures of the site and its environment, and also provides facility methods for the granary site’s exhibition.
