| This thesis is about comparative research on esthetical ideology of Bei school and Tie school in late Qing Dynasty.The late Qing Dynasty is an epitomizing period of stone-inscription studies development, in which whether "Veneration of Bei" or "Veneration of Tie" turned into focus of fierce debate. And the substance of debate is due to confrontation of aesthetic concepts.This thesis is constituted of three chapters which separately emphasizes on three lays of strokes, construction and verve of Chinese characters. Six couples of key word, filtered among numerous aesthetic words from late Qing Dynasty calligraphy literature, separately unfold comparison between calligraphic aesthetic concepts of "Bei School" and "Tie School", to find the common and difference between them as well as deep social and idealistic source hidden behind the common and difference.Through research, it is found that aesthetic concepts of "Bei School" and "Tie School" are not diametrically opposed, but they have a lot in common. And the difference mainly lies in the following three aspects, distinct extra emphasis on aesthetic style, different locations of aesthetic style foretype and proportions of various aesthetic styles. These common and difference of aesthetic concepts are closely interrelated to the complicated society, ideology and cultural backgrounds in late Qing Dynasty. |
