Moral imagination, a cognitive process by which individuals can insight the moralmeaning of dilemma, consider perspectives of stakeholders and create new possibilities.It is ability rather than characteristics which can be obtained or improved by beingreinforced repeatedly. It is perception rather than behavior whose realization does notequal the necessity of moral behavior. For the organization, moral imagination impelsthe organization to make moral decisions and then achieves the win-win with botheconomics benefits and social benefits. At present, though the research on moralimagination is gradually mature rooted in Western culture, we need to ascertain theapplicability of the existing scales and research conclusions in China. Given this, thestudy mainly employs documentary analysis and questionnaire survey and the researchsite is based on domestic enterprises. The research applies SPSS20.0and AMOS18.0to analyze correlation, moderating effect and mediating effect, deeply exploring theinfluential factors of moral imagination in China and proving the employment of themeasurable scale developed by Caldwell&Moberg. The findings reveal that:1. There are significant differences between employees’ perception level of moralimagination and the level of ethical leadership and organizational commitment due tothe influence of cultural environment and the lack of relevant domestic researches.That is, the former is below the average level, whereas the latter is above the average.2. Gender, age and working experience can only explain1.2percent of thedifferences of moral imagination; they have no correlation with moral imagination.3. By Hierarchical regression, proximity has moderating effect on organizationalcommitment and moral imagination under the Chinese cultural context.4. The correlation analysis and regression analysis turn out that organizationalcommitment plays mediation role between ethical leadership and moral imaginationwhich is influenced by proximity and therefore organizational commitment plays amoderating effect of intermediary role.Based on research conclusions, this study comes up with the managementsuggestion from the perspective of society, enterprise and individual to service theChinese enterprises which making use of the relationship properly between moralimagination and ethical leadership. For example, enhance enterprises’ and individuals’attention on moral related issues, improve moral sensitivity, establish ethical standard, build open moral communication mechanism, develop individual ethicalaccomplishment, and implement the ethical standards.
