Like the other images in poetry, the capital images in Ci poetry of Song Dynasty contain the objective images and subjective feelings. As one of the basic unit of poetic art,the academia have paid more attention to the study of the Song Dynasty capitals. So far, the academic research mostly focus on Song Dynasty capitals and the capital images in the relationship between culture and literature as well as geographic cultural aspects, and it has got the impressive results, but the studies of the capital images in Ci poetry of Song Dynasty is relatively weak. Therefore, it is very necessary to have a deep research in the capital images of Song Ci poetry system.This article is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, firstly define the concept about the capital images in Song Ci poetry, which is not only refer to the capital of Song Dynasty, but also refer to the particular natural and human landscapes in the capital of Song Dynasty, and also the same time including the literary quotations about the capital images. Thus, it is divided into four parts, which are respectively the capital images, the landscape images,the royal court images and the literary quotations. Secondly try to comb the capital images in literary works before Song Dynasty in order to outline its sources.The second chapter focuses on analyzing the capital images in Song Ci poetry. Firstly it attempts to analyze and summarize the thoughts and feelings of the capital images in Song Ci poetry from three main themes, which are capital images in Song Ci poetry of capital scenery, experiences of Ci poets and social styles and features of Song Dynasty. Secondly it tries to provide a comparison of the capital images between Northern Song and Southern Song Dynasty. For example, in the early Northern Song Dynasty, the Ci poets usually expressed their love and tribute to the capital and the whole country by composing Ci poetry; in the middle and the end of the Northern Song Dynasty, the subject matter and the emotional domain of Ci poetry was expended, as well as Ci poets warmly praising the great capital, they started to concern about their own life gradually, which by composing Ci poetry led to express their individual emotion, homestead plot and spiritual pursuit to the capital; between the Northern and the Southern Song Dynasty, facing the old and new dynasties alternating, some patriotic Ci poets started to express their sympathy and lament for the whole nation in their Ci poetry; by the late and the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, while the Ci poets still focused on describing the great capital and themselves, especially in the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, their family-country mood was more serious. The commonalities between the capital images of the Northern Song and Southern Song Dynasty are the love and tribute expression to the capital and the whole country, the memories for the capital when Ci poets are far away from it, and the sadness and the anger about the nation and the loss of home and country. The difference between them is that in the Northern Song Dynasty the Ci poets use capital images to express their own feelings, while in the Southern Song Dynasty they usually give their best wishes to the other people or themselves by using capital images in some celebrations. The reason that caused this phenomenon is related to the capital culture consciousness, regional culture consciousness and the family-country consciousness of Ci poets.The third chapter researches on individual cases about the capital images. Take Liu Yong, Chao Duanli and Zhang Yan for example. First of all, Liu’s Ci poetry mostly express the prosperity of the capital, and also his remembering plot for the capital. The basic content, emotion and cultural connotation of Liu’s capital Ci poetry were made up of the praise for the flourishing age, missing the happy life and his lover in capital when leaving it, lamenting the perishable years; second of all,comparing with Liu Yong,Chao Duanli’s Ci poetry has new contents, for example, his social triumph, craving for the royal commitment and analogy objects. Combination of virtualness and reality reflects the centripetal force and the cohesive force of Chao Duanli and the whole group of literary for the capital images. At last, there is a deep analysis about the West Lake in Zhang Yan’s Ci poetry. The West Lake image stands for aesthetic object, the witness to the once-prosper, Zhang’s patriotism and his retirement. Before Song Dynasty came to an end, the West Lake was always a symbol of the prosperity of the country. After that, the West Lake became the symbol of destroyed nation and the lost home, which expressed Zhang’s patriotism and his life experiences,which together constitute the unique implication of the West Lake image. |
