Writing-teaching is an important part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. After investigating the leaning situation of Chinese writing-teaching and Mongolian students’ learning situation on Chinese characters in Erenhot Mongolian School, the thesis summarizes school’s teaching content, teaching methods and teaching effectiveness on the base of the investigation. By combining with the understanding of the Chinesecharacters’ structure, I tried to explore and summarize the correct teaching strategies for Mongolian students. So as to providing a reference for Chinese writing-teaching.The main part of the article includes the purpose of the survey and objects, students learning status, the teaching status and teaching recommendations.The main purpose of the surveys is to learn the Chinese writing-teaching situation of Mongolian School in Erenhot, to summarize andanalyzed their success stories and the problems, to give the suggestionon improving the teaching. The survey includes the basic status of school, teachers, students and usage of teaching materials. Through the survey we could find that students are very enthusiastic about learning Chinese like the writing of Chinese characters, Chinese calligraphy and Chinese cultural that contains in the characters. Through exercises both during and after class and cultural combined extra-curricular activities, students got a good learning effect. On the choice of teaching content, the school takes The Outline of Words and Characters of Chinese Proficiency Level as the fundamental basis and focus on the textbooks word, payattention to the guidance of the students writing methods, also highlight the great importance of writing knowledge and the culture of Chinese characters. As for teaching methods, it combined grammar-translationmethod, audio-lingual method, classroom teaching and tutoring method. School evaluates writing-teaching by subjective evaluation, objective evaluation and formative evaluation.Based on investigation and analysis, this paper attempts to put forward several proposals and recommendations on the Chinese writing-teaching to Mongolian students. Firstly, to imitate the classical learning theory to enhance the quality of writing-teaching. Secondly, to emphasize traditional box-writing training and bring in new training methods. Thirdly, take the advantage of multimedia and new materials to improve students’ enthusiasm for learning. Fourthly, pay great attention to the selection and redaction of materials. Lastly, carry out “carrot and stick” and“Preview-Review-Thinking-Acting” methods. Hoping my paper could benefit the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language to this school.
