During late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty,Qian Qianyi et.al. led the Parnassus to Song sect. To the middle of Qing Dynasty, the fusion of Tang and Song became the trend.Catalogue of Imperial Collection of Four (short as "Catalogue") had composed at this time. The status of Song Poetry had greatly improved. Song sect seemed to be mainstream tendency, it also made prepare for the Song poetry movement in later society. As the summary of Song sect at the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, the Catalogue is unfair by combing the abstract of "Qing Anthology". We can find out that the secretaries of Institute of Siku stand at Tang sect point of view, they do not Objectively reflect the feature and achievement of Song sect poets. Its official capacity hinders academic fairness. In the same time, the King James makes this effect long-term accumulating in the History of Qing poetry. So it’s necessary to figure out criticism formation and the cause. Currently, the study about Catalogue and "ancient poems dispute between Tang poetry and Song poetry" in academic is relatively lacked. For this reason, this paper discusses through the following chapters:the first chapter, by examining the official vision of the trend of Song sect at the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, you can get a panoramic view of cognition. The second chapter, by textual research on the abstract we can know literature foundation of Catalogue. Because the criticism appears to be relatively fragmented, it’s necessary to discuss in two parts, from the "Qing Dynasty Collected Works","Song poetry anthology and poetry Review two o’clock proceed. The third chapter, analyze its criticism formation from the political and academic background of Catalogue. Above all, from the political perspective, imperial preferences impact the compiling of Catalogue. And Ming loyalist is a sensitive topic in early Qing Dynasty, their poem Was intentionally obscured. Then, from an academic point of view, Han Song Controversy impact the Catalogue’s criticism of ancient poems dispute. The fourth chapter, in addition to passive acceptance, posterity’s reception about Catalogue’s criticism of Song sect seems more rational in the hands of Deng Zhicheng and Yan Dichang. It also provides a good example for us to look at Catalogue.
