Research On Catalogue Of Buddhism During Jingyou Period

Catalogue of Buddhism during Jingyou period records the Buddhist Sutra in the imperial translation center in Dazhongxiangfu fifth to Jingyou fourth years of the Northern Song Dynasty,After Buddhist Sutra is the memorial to the throne,This book record the duty of Buddhist in the imperial translation center and the process of Buddhist Sutra integrally,also valuable to the study of the Buddhist Sutra and Buddhist literature in the Northern Song Dynasty.The focus of this paper is Catalogue of Buddhism during Jingyou period,through the search of the relevant historical data to analyze the general situation and characteristics of the Buddhist Sutra in the Northern Song dynasty.This paper is divided into three parts to research the book.The first part mainly elaborates the background and content of the book,which mainly from the imperial Buddhism policy in Northern earlier Song Dynasty and the sources of Buddhist scripture translation materials and the spreading of the book,and so on.The second part elaborates the characteristics of the Buddhist Sutra by analyzing the relationship between Catalogue of Buddhism during Jingyou period and the Buddhist Sutra system in the Song dynasty.The last part discuss the monks in imperial translation center which by analyzing the relationship between the Nine Buddhist monks and the Imperial edict.
