Abstract/Summary:
"Is" sentence is a very important Chinese sentence type. The frequency of its appearance is very high. The category and usage of "Is" sentence is also very complex. So I decided to study about it. In my study, Kenya Chinese learners are my test objectives. At the same time, my study is according to inter-language theory and the degree model of the difficulty of second language acquisition. Via investigation and the corpus which I got from my teaching, with the method of contrastive analysis and error analysis I will study about the types, reason and solvent to the errors of "Is" sentence. I hope my study can be helpful to the teaching of Chinese in Kenya, especially the teaching of "Is" sentence in the future.This article is divided into seven parts:The first part is the introduction of this essay. It describes the aim, meaning and value of this research. It also describes the current condition of Chinese teaching in Kenya and the importance of "Is" sentence in Kenya Chinese teaching. The first chapter summaries the current study condition of grammar and teaching Chinese as a second language academic study. In addition, some parts of "is" sentence which is deficient advised in this essay. The second chapter introduces the definition of "is" sentence and a general summary of grammatical function and the parts of speech. This part limits the scope of this study. The third chapter gives a brief description of the acquisition. At the same time, this essay also gives a brief analysis of the questionnaire data. The fourth chapter accords the questionnaire data and the corpus which comes from the daily teaching, this essay analyses the manifestation, cause of formation and the solvent of different types of "is" sentence errors. The fifth chapter according to the textbooks which I use, in the order of lessons I give examples to show the errors students will make and do some brief analysis about these errors. The sixth chapter from the macro level to show the problems of Kenya Chinese teaching and learning and ways to avoid it. The last part is the conclusion of this essay. It summarizes the main contents of this essay, and also shows the deficiency of the research.
