In the progress of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, a high-qualified textbook is quite important and its importance reflects every aspect of the textbook. It especially affects foreign students’understanding and using of the new words of the text. A high-qualified word meaning translation should not only serves the content of the book but also improves students’ learning. After read many textbooks about teaching Chinese as a foreign language, the writer found some mistakes about translating Chinese words into English in the textbooks.
