Children’s novel, as a special literature genre, displays distinctive features in languagestyle for its target readers-children. Therefore, whether a translation can reproduce thesefeatures determines the translation quality to a great extent. Charlie and Chocolate Factoryis a typical foreign children’s novel. Based on the translation of its chapters11-20, thispaper makes a study of the translation strategies for the reproduction of language style inchildren’s novels through the comparison of its two translation versions. This paper isdivided into four chapters. In chapter1, there is a brief introduction of generalcharacteristics of children’s novels in language style and of specific language stylecharacteristics of Charlie and Chocolate Factory. In chapter2, it describes the author’stranslation process, putting forward the difficulties the author met and introducing the basicprinciple to deal with them. Chapter3is the main body of this paper. It compares twotranslation versions and analyses their differences from four perspectives: invented wordstranslation, rhyme translation, reproduction of the tone and general improvement of thetranslation, so as to illustrate the strategies to reproduce language style in children’s noveltranslation. Chapter4is a conclusion.
