The Research Of Settlement Pattern At Jiangzhai Site

Human settlements research as an important field in archaeology research, is more and more applied in the solution of case studies of large sites. Jiangzhai site is an important settlement of Yangshao Culture.It has been systematically excavated.Many scholars have written essays about it.This essay based on stratigraphy,the basic theory in archaeology,aims to proclaim the patterns of this settlements in each period,to explain how people made their planning,to discover cultural exchange reflected from the planning.This essay contains five parts:Part one, introduction.It gives a brief introduction about the environment,excavation program and research status of Jiangzhai site.It also introduce the thought and ways of this essay.Part two, home sites and pits.This part sorts home sites in each period according to the overlying relation of layers. Combining with pits, as essential sets in life.we can see planning partition phenomenon.Part three, tombs.It discusses the ancients’planning thought about tombs after contrastting tombs’pattern and spatial location.Part four, conclusion.By overlaying artificial relics and animal bones,this part has a careful research about the settlement patterns in each period.Part five,summarize.Summing up the discussion ahead,this part gives a conclusion about the changing rule of settlement patterns,and the reason why patterns changed.
