| The study of this thesis is on the syntax and semantic characteristics of the co-occurrence of adverbs and auxiliary constructions in Modern Chinese. When an adverb appears with an auxiliary construction, there might be3possible distributions:"ADV+NP+AUX+XP""NP+ADV+AUX+XP""NP+AUX+ADV+XP". For the goal of ontology research and information processing research, We have selected "NP+ADV+AUX+XP""NP+AUX+ADV+XP" and the auxiliary construction "AUX+XP" as our research objects, and discussed the mutual restrictions between the auxiliary and the XP, the adverb and the auxiliary construction. This thesis was based on the real text corpus such as "CCL Corpus", and had made a detailed study on the syntax and semantic characteristics of the co-occurrence of adverbs and auxiliary constructions. Now we have got some conclusions as follows: First of all, there are3distributions when an adverb appears with an auxiliary construction:before the subject, before the auxiliary, and after the auxiliary. There are distinct distributions when the adverb or the auxiliary are different. Some adverbs can occur in different positions, and can move to other positions. Some adverbs can even make movement without changing meanings of the sentence. What’s more, we have already summarized the factors which might influence the position of adverbs. Second, this thesis had surveyed syntax and semantic characteristics of structures when adverbs of scope and adverbs of degree were appear before or after auxiliary constructions, and have analyzed the different semantic items of ambiguity auxiliaries. We have found a conclusion that when an adverb appear with an auxiliary construction, the sense item of auxiliary, the structure type and the argument realization of XP, and the sentence pattern have behaved a lot of syntax or semantic features. The results of this thesis could help to present the distribution traits when an adverb appears with an auxiliary construction, and provide an clue to discover the mutual restrictions between an auxiliary and XP, an adverb and an auxiliary construction, and build the relationship between syntax and semantic interpretation. |
