The Decremental Adverbs In The Form Of �Wei(?)+X� In Modern Chinese

The thesis,by studying the decremental adverbs in the form of �Wei(?)+ X� from different perspectives,including �weimian�,�weibi�,�weichang�,is intended to elaborate them syntactically,semantically and pragmatically.This thesis consists of five parts.C hapter I is the introduction,which introduces the purpose,significance,studying subjects,studying scope,theoretical backgrounds,methods of the research,and source of language materia ls.What's more,it also summarizes the research findings of the previous scholars.Chapter II analyzes the decremental adverbs in the form of�Wei(?)+X�from the syntactic and semantic perspectives.It analyzes their syntax distribution,sentence distribution.Besides,it explores the co-occurrence words with�Wei(?)+X�adverbs and analyzes their influences on the degree of decremention.�Wei(?)+X�adverbs are also used in conjunction with some adverbs of degree,such as�youdian(??)�,�youxie(??)�,�butai(??)�,or some modal particles,such as�ba(?)�,�a(?)�.It is found that the�Wei(?)+X�adverbs have the common feature of s ubjective decrement,subjective valuation and negativeness.Chapter III explores the decremental adverbs in the form of �Wei(?)+ X� from cognitive and pragmatic perspectives.It analyzes the cognitive processes of �Wei(?)+ X� adverbs,and explains decremental expression of �Wei(?)+ X� adverbs from a cognitive perspective.The research findings indicate the pragmatic functions of decremental adverbs in the form of �Wei(?)+ X� include high-level predicate function,subjective expression function,language information function and communicative function.Chapter IV,taking �weibi� as an example,investigates the decremental adverbs in diachronic aspects.It explains the grammaticalized agent and describes how the function of decremention is generated step by step at the same time.Chapter Five is the conclusion,which sums up the main opinion of the thesis and points out the deficiency of this thesis.
